Terms of use

Use the clues. Keep your judgment.

These draft terms set practical ground rules for using Found That Thing. They should be reviewed with counsel before a jurisdiction-specific launch.

The service

Found That Thing helps you organize photos and details about objects, receive AI-assisted identification and resale guidance, and save those results to an account. The service may change, be interrupted, or be unavailable from time to time.

Your content and permission

You are responsible for the photos, notes, feedback, and other content you submit. Submit only content you have the right to share, and avoid including sensitive or unnecessary personal information.

You keep any rights you have in your content. You give Found That Thing a limited, non-exclusive permission to host, process, reproduce, and display that content only as needed to operate, secure, troubleshoot, and improve the service features you choose to use. Optional visual-match and learning uses require the separate opt-ins described in the product.

Acceptable use

Do not use the service to submit unlawful, infringing, harmful, deceptive, or privacy-invasive content; interfere with service security; scrape or misuse the service; or present automated output as a verified appraisal or professional opinion. You are responsible for your own listings, offers, sales, shipments, donations, and compliance with applicable rules.

Purchases and third parties

Where available, purchases are processed through platform-hosted checkout. The checkout display controls the price, billing terms, and any applicable purchase terms shown to you before you pay. We do not state a refund policy here because the current code does not establish one.

Links to marketplaces, research sources, and other third-party services are provided for convenience and evidence. Their availability, content, terms, and privacy practices are outside Found That Thing’s control. No affiliation or endorsement is implied unless Found That Thing explicitly says so.

IP and takedown requests

If you believe content on Found That Thing infringes your intellectual-property rights, email team@found-that-thing.madethis.app with your contact information, a description of the work and claimed infringement, the relevant find or URL, and a good-faith statement supporting your request.

Disclaimers, liability, and changes

The limitations in the disclaimers page are part of these terms. To the extent allowed by applicable law, Found That Thing is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for losses arising from reliance on identification, marketplace, valuation, resale, or third-party information.

We may update these terms as the service changes. The updated date will appear at the top of this page. No governing-law or jurisdiction clause is stated here because the verified business entity and location are not established in the current product code.
